The Operational Unit is dedicated to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the diabetic foot and all the diseases linked to it, with the goal of reducing major amputations through a prompt diagnosis and an early treatment
The working group is coordinated by a diabetologist and includes a team of specialists in endocrinology, interventional radiology, surgeons, vascular surgeons, nurses and podiatrists
Meeting with the Doctors: every day after the medical examination or prior agreement with the Nursing Coordinator
Meeting with the Nursing Coordinator: upon patient or relatives request
Medical examination for the patients: from 8:00am to 12:00pm
Meal hours: breakfast at 8:00am, lunch at 12:00pm, dinner at 6:30pm
Visiting hours for patients’ relatives:
Access to the clinic: From Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 2:00pm; Monday and Thursday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Prevention: primary and secondary prevention of the diabetic foot
Diagnosis: early diagnosis of complications that are the basis of the onset of Diabetic Foot and its wounds by a multidisciplinary management
Evaluation and treatment of the wounds
Prompt management of the most complex and urgent cases, reported by the regional and extra-regional diabetes
Information, education and support to relatives and caregivers for the prevention and treatment of the disease
