The Operational Unit of General Surgery activities are aimed at all pathologies of surgical interest both in elective and emergency situations. It also performs diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases, in both Day Surgery and Hospitalization
General Surgery
Meeting with the Doctors: from 1:00pm to 2:00pm
Meeting with the Nursing Coordination: from 1:00pm to 2:00pm
Medical examination for the patients: week days from 9:00am to 11:30am
Meal hours: breakfast from 8:30am to 9:00am, lunch from 11:30am to 12:00pm, dinner from 6:00pm to 6:30pm
Visiting hours for patients’ relatives: from 7:00am to 8:30am • from 12:00am to 13:00pm • from 14:00pm to 15:00pm • from 18:00pm to 20:30pm
Vascular Diagnosis
Vascular Diagnosis service, active from Monday to Friday, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm;
Medical examination for the patients: week days from 9:00am to 11:30am;
Visita medica ai degenti: week days from 9:00am to 11:30am
Surgical Treatment of:
• gastro-intestinal tract (stomach disease, biliary tract, colon, rectum, anus, inflammatory diseases)
• abdominal wall (hernias and incisional hernias)
• proctology (haemorrhoids, fissures, abscesses and fistulas)
Outpatient Surgery
Oncological Surgery: treatments for patients with oncological issues. in collaboration with the Dermatology service a search is performed for the sentinel lymph node in the case of melanoma. To tend the patients using a multidisciplinary approach, the specialists of the Operational Unit have proficiency in Medical Oncology, Radiology, Gastroenterology, Nutrition Therapy, and Pain Therapy
Video-assisted minimally invasive Surgery: performs surgeries with small incisions, using high definition cameras and miniaturized surgical instrumentation. This technique ensures less pain, reduced length of hospital stay and improved cosmetics. It is preferably carried out in gallstone disease in inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of the colon and rectum in the treatment of incisional hernias
Vascular Surgery: vascular diagnosis and expert advice of arterial and venous vascular disease. The activities are performed in collaboration with the Operative Units of:
• Interventional Radiology (arteriography PTA and stenting for lower limb AOPAI, aci stenting in atherosclerotic disease of the carotid, chemioembolisms, Angio-MRI and CT angiography)
• Diabetic Foot fot the limb salvage surgery in diabetic patients
• Neurology/Stroke Unit for the treatment of symptomatic carotid lesions and thrombolysis
• Nephrology and Dialysis: for the management of venous access suitable for the performance of hemodialysis and the outpatient activity of Peritoneal Dialysis;
• Point of Early Intervention, for a non-invasive vascular diagnosis
